Subscription Management Service
PDMG's method of online subscription management was prohibitively expensive for the large volume of anticipated subscribers across their customer base. A more cost-effective system was needed to provide subscribers a means to manage their subscription information. PDMG considered a web-based solution that, once created, could be offered to its many subscription-based publisher clients. In addition to providing the basic subscription renewal features, the service would have to be highly configurable in order to reflect the specific branding of the pages for various publications.
ASI worked with PDMG staff to design and construct a website providing complete subscription management capabilities, including credit card processing. All pages are completely customizable, which enables PDMG to seamlessly support new publications with minimal effort and cost. The highly secure site uses HTTPS and encryption to protect site data. Finally, a secured custom application was implemented, allowing PDMG to exchange data with the service on a scheduled basis.
The subscription service has been highly successful, and has been utilized with several PDMG publisher-clients. The resulting system allows reader-subscribers access to all relevant subscription information. Common tasks are now conveniently available to subscribers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Subscribers are able to initiate a new subscription, renew an existing subscription, make a payment, change their address, or just check their subscription status. In addition, a PDMG admin login provides restricted administrative features related to site maintenance.
ASP.NET, SQL Server 2005, HTTPS, CSS
